Pronto helps To Make Christmas Shine
Owner Michael Notarangelo was on hand to officiate at the ceremony – and then to
start the countdown for turning on the lights.
Children from P4 at St John’s Primary School sang a selection of favourite carols and
were joined by a large crowd of onlookers for the annual event – just across the road
from Pronto – your favourite Edinburgh authentic pizzeria – at Brighton Place.
Michael said: “Our slogan is ‘proudly local, authentically Italian’ so it was a big thrill
to be asked to take part in such a big event in the Portobello community.
“From the day we opened, we’ve sought to become a firm favourite with local
people – and that’s been reflected by the huge numbers of loyal customers from the
area who keep returning.
“We’re always keen to play a part or help out where we can – such as operating a
deal with Tribe and being a key part of the new Porty Festival – so we had no
hesitation in saying yes when we were asked to manage the switch-on.”
After the switch-on, Pronto – Edinburgh’s top pizza and street food operation – laid
on lots of slices of free pizza for the schoolchildren and visitors.
One visitor Kimberley Al said: “It was very cold but the wee ones singing their hearts
out left us with very warm hearts. Well done to everyone involved and a tip of the
hat to Pronto pizza.
Another Morag Donaldson said: “Well done to Michael at Pronto for being a
frontrunner at this event.”
Earlier, Pronto had taken part in the annual Portobello Late Night Christmas
Shopping event by offering a free glass of prosecco with every pizza.
