Pronto Keeps The Tribe Happy With Clever Catering Solution
Pronto Keeps The Tribe Happy With Clever Catering Solution
Pronto lived up to its name – the Italian translates as ‘ready, prepared or quick’ – when we hit a problem after a local community group asked us to provide our Edinburgh-based street food catering service for its annual Summer Party.
We had already been booked as the main caterer for Blackhall Primary School Sports Day when Tribe Porty wanted to also commission us for their event on the same day.
But rather than let them down, we came up a Pronto-style – ‘ready and quick’ solution to ensure their guests enjoyed some great, authentic pizzas.
That involved us setting up a unique QR code where guests to the Tribe Porty Summer Party could order a pizza from our shop in nearby Brighton Place – and it was delivered fresh and hot by a staff member.
Alice Hudson (Community Manager) at Tribe said the Summer Party brings together its members and the local Portobello community for a free, family-friendly event – and the food caterer is always a big feature.
Alice added: “I contacted Pronto in need of a food truck for our community event at Tribe Porty. While they were unable to join us on-site, they very kindly set up a QR code ordering system, which meant that our guests could get fresh pizza delivered to Tribe all day.
“The team at Pronto are absolutely fabulous, happy to help, and I love that as a business they are community-driven.
“The pizzas were very much enjoyed; delivered fresh, hot, and quickly.
“I would both collaborate with Pronto in the future and recommend them to others looking for a food vendor.”
Pronto owner Michael Notarangelo said while they love to serve individual customers their favourite pizza, catering for large groups and parties is always easy to arrange and plan.
Michael said: “We’ve had lots of large orders from office and family parties to working with a local gym whose members completed their weekly run by coming to Pronto for a reward of a pizza.
“As our core business Belmonte Catering was formed – and still operates – as a highly successful and popular Edinburgh street food operation, we’ve got loads of experience in managing all kinds of events and special requests.
“That’s why it was easy for us to consider the issue initially with Tribe Porty, and then come up with the clever QR code solution so that we were able to ensure all their guests were catered for.
“We’re always happy to hear from anyone looking for pizza catering with great authentic pizzas for their event or function.”
Up to 200 guests were expected to attend the Summer Party which also featured creative workshops and live music.
Belmonte Catering – named after the Italian village where Michael’s family originate from – has four operations in its portfolio: Pronto, serving authentic Italian pizza; Rollys Ice Cream, the first in Scotland to serve unique ice cream ‘rolls’; The Doghouse, which specialises in gourmet hot dogs, smash burgers and loaded fries; and StikWaffle, offering a hot dessert concept.
